How to play Baseball Better

This is an instructable about how to play baseball better. I will be teaching the basics of hitting, base running, fielding, and throwing. Whether you want to learn how to play baseball or just get better at baseball you should read this instructable. The first step to teaching youth baseball drills is to understand the part of the swing that will produce the greatest and quickest positive results in a hitter.

Ways to be a Better Baseball Player
  1. Stay active in the off season. Participate in other sports. Coaches want athletes, not just ball players who stay fit during the season. Focus on making yourself a better athlete for life, not just for baseball, and you will naturally improve your performance.
  2. Warming up before a game is so important. Don’t concentrate on throwing the hardest pitch or the fastest swing – focus on range of motion, on activating your core and your muscles. Your body is a car in winter. It needs to warm up a bit before it can run well.
  3. When you’re on deck, don’t just swing your bat to warm up. Check on what the pitcher is doing. What are they throwing? Are they hitting their targets? If you have a general idea what to expect, you can set yourself up for a better hit.

The faster a coach can reach an athlete and instill some confidence in the skill of hitter, the more receptive he will be for future coaching as he learns how to play baseball better. The single most important first skill to teach a young athlete is the ability to properly manage his balance while hitting a baseball.
