The kinetic link-model is a bio mechanical model used to analyze many
sport activities. It depicts the body as a linked system of
interdependent segments, working in a proximal-to-distal sequence, to
impart a desired action at a distal segment.
This model emphasizes the contribution of the entire body during sport activities rather than just focusing on the activation of individual segments. It has been established that efficient athletic performance during activities like throwing and hitting require muscle activation in a proximal-to-distal sequence.
